Well. I made it to the gym today! Woohoo!
I took a Butts, Thighs and I forgot the third one Bootcamp class. Hopefully it was Butts, Thighs and Abs. Now that I think about it, I dont even think the Butts and Thighs part is right; Im sure the term booty was in the title somewhere. Nevertheless, I went to the effing gym, okay?! We worked out on the BOSU ball, which meant I did most of the exercises on the floor. Honestly, who can balance on that half sphere of blue Satan? We ran a little, yada yada. When all was said and done, my legs were sore. It was still not as hard as other bootcamp type classes I have gone too, but all in all, a better workout than watching tv and eating at Burger King ifyouknowwhatimsayin.
I was pretty tired after that class but I stuck it out and went to yoga. Seth's class. He had 2 older guys there and 2 other noobs so I guess he made class pretty chill for us. It was pretty restorative-y, I guess. We did a little breathing thing that Todd taught us to keep cool. You stick your tongue out, curl it into a "straw", and breathe in. Then close your mouth and breath out normally through your nose. It's a cooling breath. The air drags over the moisture on your tongue and feels quite popsicle-y going down. Toward the end of class, we did legs up the wall. Then we did something that I would call Pull Your Arm Out of Socket if I was in the asana naming business. You lay (lie?) on your stomach and reach your right arm straight out to the side. Then you proceed to roll onto your right side and curl your legs up into a fetal position. Then, if you're feeling crazy, you can lift your left arm straight up into the air and try to lower it to grab onto your right hand. GO AHEAD TRY IT ITS FUN. (that was sarcasm). I just put my left hand behind my back and let it chill there. There was a lot of me focusing on my breath, ignoring the right arm strung awkwardly under and behind my body. But, in the end, it felt nice. I was just exaggerating about the arm out of socket thing (but only a little bit of exaggeration, not a lot).
Oh, and SBZ. Seth played that Somewhere Over the Rainbow song by the Hawaiian guy. And With or Without you (that U2 song) but the classical version he has of it. And some Bob Marley. And Dido, "Thank You".
